Larger images shrink to fit; smaller ones keep their size. SVGs are drawn at exactly this size.
Fills transparent areas, since JPG can’t keep them.
Free, no sign-up. Location and camera details (EXIF) are always removed: each file is redrawn and saved fresh.
HEIC to JPG · Free · No upload
iPhones save photos as HEIC to use half the space, but Windows, many Android apps and lots of upload forms still won't open them. Convert them to JPG here, up to 50 at a time, without sending your photos anywhere.
Your files never leave your device.
AirDrop or copy them from your iPhone, then drop them here. HEIF files work the same way.
90 is a good default: the JPG looks the same as the original. Lower it for smaller files.
Save each JPG, or all of them as one ZIP.
HEIC is Apple's name for the HEIF format with HEVC (H.265) compression, the same technology used for 4K video. iPhones and iPads have saved photos this way since iOS 11 in 2017 because a HEIC photo looks the same as a JPG at roughly half the file size, and it can hold things a JPG can't: more color depth, the depth map behind Portrait mode, and several images in one file.
JPG is from 1992 and opens on every phone, computer, printer and website. That's the whole reason to convert: you give up some storage savings and get a photo that works everywhere.
Windows opens HEIC only after you add Microsoft's HEIF and HEVC extensions from the Microsoft Store, and the HEVC one is paid on most PCs. Many job sites, government portals, online print shops, older Android phones, digital photo frames and email programs still accept only JPG or PNG. If an upload form says "file type not supported" for an iPhone photo, HEIC is almost always why.
To have new photos saved as JPG, go to Settings › Camera › Formats and choose Most Compatible. To keep HEIC on the phone but send JPGs to a computer, set Settings › Photos › Transfer to Mac or PC to Automatic, and iOS converts them as it copies.
For photos you already have, converting here keeps the full resolution and turns each photo the right way up. Camera data such as GPS location is left out of the JPG, which is worth knowing before you post a photo taken at home.
Add up to 50 photos at a time and download them as one ZIP. Each JPG keeps its original name, so IMG_4021.HEIC becomes IMG_4021.jpg and the photos stay in the same order as on your phone. For a bigger album, convert the first 50, clear the list and add the next.
