What is an AVIF file?
An image format built on the AV1 video codec. Websites use it because it's smaller than JPG and WebP for the same quality.
Why is the JPG bigger than the AVIF?
AVIF compresses far better than JPG. The same picture simply takes more space as a JPG.
My browser says it can't read the file.
AVIF is decoded by the browser itself, so this needs a recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox (93 or later) or Safari (16.4 or later).
Are the images uploaded?
